Marnie Schulenburg, an actress known for her role as Alison Stewart on As the World Turns, has died. She was 37. Schulenburg died Tuesday (May 17) of breast cancer complications, her rep confirmed to Variety yesterday.

Schulenburg, who starred on As the World Turns from 2007 through 2010, was also known for her roles in Blue Bloods, One Life to Live, Alpha House, Royal Pains, Tainted Dreams and The Good Fight.

The Cape Cod native attended DeSales University and later made her first TV appearance in 2007, when she played Alison Stewart on The Young and the Restless, per IMDb.

Her most recent credits are roles in Divorce and a multi-episode arc as Maggie Caysen in City on a Hill. She will appear posthumously in the TV series Public Service.

Actor Zack Robidas, Schulenburg’s husband, confirmed her death in a Facebook post. “Please don’t say Marnie lost her battle to cancer.

It’s simply not true. I watched her kick cancer’s ass everyday since diagnosis,” he wrote, per Variety. “She is incredible. We chose to attack her diagnosis with blind optimism.

We only talked about the future and continued moving forward. I don’t know if this was right but it’s all we knew how to do.”
