According to MLB Network's Jon Heyman (via Twitter), Correa was asking for at least a $330MM contract, with an overall range of $330MM to $350MM.
Despite this, Correa remains unsigned. He's not the only premium player left on the board, with shortstop Trevor Story, first baseman Freddie Freeman and others still searching for a new team. Time is running out for Correa to sign before the season, as Opening Day is just 22 days away.
Correa has spent his entire career with the Astros. The organization selected him with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2012 Major League Baseball draft. Since making his big league debut in 2015, Correa has posted a .277/.356/.481 slash line with 133 homers and 489 RBI in 752 games.
